Thanks! According to the map our ground temp is somewhere between 72 & 75 degrees. Digging a 4’ hole around here takes either a backhoe or a couple of big strong guys with pick axes & rock bars so I probably won’t dig one to stick a thermometer into. ;) I’ll just take their word for it. Thanks anyway. I’m thinking I can build a water storage tank underneath the house. It stays fairly cool under there because the house is cool and it’s mostly enclosed…. Once I put up rock-faced sawcrete walls it’ll be an *insulated* cool space where it’ll keep stored water nicely cool. The ground under the house is very slightly sloped so if I didn’t level the storage tanks they would have enough pressure to run drip irrigation plus naturally drain if I ever needed to drain them. To sprinkle the roof I’d need a pump to put enough pressure on the line to lift the water about 15 – 18’ high plus run the sprinklers but I would think a solar pump would work very well for that.

Yeah, I was wondering about city tap water… our public water source uses a big, metal water tower to store water and create the line pressure. When I turn on the tap and let it run for a looooong time it’s cool but not cold. I had well water in
Thanks for the info!
