In the part of TX where I live, the nights and days swing forty or fifty degrees in a 24 hour period. This time of year it's not so bad, only about thirty degrees swing from 70 at dawn to 100+ in the PM.

I wondered about the thermal mass-insulation thing I've read about
myself. Seems a dichotomy of therms.
What about the pumice Judith uses? Because it is lightweight in
nature, and she says adds "volume," would the pumice add to the
insulative nature or thermal-mass or heat transfer.
In TX, our summer nights and days can be almost equally hot, so we want
insulation and more insulation.
