Okay, first let me say that I never said it would not do well in snow
country. =) My response was intended to address their desire to have a
surface which would withstand the elements (specifically snow and heavy
rain). PC by itself is not that material, IMO.

That being said, I also said to treat it more like wood. Just like
wood, with the proper sealing or covering, it will do fine. You are at
that point taking other action to seal it from the elements. Regular
stucco, waterproofing sealers, elastometric paints, etc have been
previously mentioned as possibilities to do that. I think PC is quite
workable in northern climates due to it's high insulative values, but
it different working from it there than in other areas that do not have
direct moisture content (snow) for weeks or months at a time.

Lastly, even if it turns out to be not appropriate as an outside wall
in your climate (economically or otherwise), it can still be used as a
stucco for inside walls, to build complete inside walls, as ceiling
material (knockdown or panel), etc all areas that can benefit from it's
insulative properties, inexpensive nature, high workability, and unique
look.

Beyond all of that, I am no expert PC climate expert, I was simply
giving my opinion. As SlurryGuy often says, Test, Test, Test. Make a
sample, put it outside in your winter. Make a PC box, put it on the
ground and put some things in it (a bolt, a scrap of wood, maybe some
paper) and see how they hold up over a month in your climate. Don't let
someone elses speculation stifle your creativity, just take note of the
advice and proceed to prove me wrong. =)
