Re: [papercreters] Substitute for Borax?

It would seem that most normal washing sodas would work. Mineral content for the fireproofing, and the salt to keep bugs off. If you look at websites with recipes for borax ant and roach killers, some of them say sodium bicarbonate works as well. A wide range of similar minerals will work, but if you can find something both local and non-toxic then that is what I would use.

Dear all, here in Norway I have to pay 78 USD for 30 grams of Borax, that is 1.1 oz - so thus far I have mixed only cement, water and paper - does anyone know of a substitute I can use? (I spent my day filing an application to recive an application that, if I get it, I have to go to the police station to have signed, before I file it back to the department, etc. etc.) Best regards ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
