I think i may be encountering some alkali levels that are off the
prudent scale. I am wondering what effects alkali (mainly a base with a
ph of 7) is going to have on my slipform insulation I am currently
working on in a backroom of the house.
I am seeing white depoisits starting to emerge on some of the drying
lower walls that I poured over a week ago. It concerns me. I was
originally under the impression that it was some kind of mold....but
looking closer it is pure white, and note really of a biological nature.
It appears more like alkali.....
Bear in mind this is fibrous adobe, and the soil is high clay content
(60% plus).
