My observation is that the first course we poured is still setting up. Not really wet but not the same as the paint free PC. That's why I was interested in this subject. I do appreciate your input here. Working with paint every day, you can't help but have a good knowledge of it.
Judith, your first pour will probably be the last to dry, simply because all the layers above are draining moisture to the bottom. The fact you guys added paint to that layer may also help to hold the moisture in, which is good! The longer it takes that layer to dry the better off you should be. From what I see by the posted pictures, that layer was poured directly in contact with the rubble trench and no concrete in between it and the trench, so that to me means that layer will have to act as a concrete stem wall, and hopefuly be harder and stronger that all the layers above.
