Re: [papercreters] Re: Fidobe was: The Upcoming Gathering

Here we are talking about soap, hahah, gotta lot it!  Well since you mentioned eczema, I've got a battle with that too.  I have found that frequent bathing exacerbates the eczema among many other things.  I've found that regular soaps, the name brand stuff (Ivory and Dial included), all of it is way too harsh or something or other.. maybe its the chemical composition of it.. but all of it causes me major problems on the skin.  Even the liquid soft soaps are problematic.  I really think they put some kind of poisons in most everything that is name brand and mass produced and that goes for food and other things like toilet paper.  So I tend to use the hand made varieties.. those non-name branded cottage industry specialties, most of which tend towards the glycerin styled ones.  Here in California it is so easy to find that kind of stuff.  I have been working on a bar now coaxing the same bar for over a month interestingly, that is hemp seed oil with some kind of other seed in it that is kind of rough.  The fragrances are non-chemically created.. just au natural.  We have a ton of Trader Joes in California, well duh.. Trader Joes got started here.. anyway, they have a brand of their own soaps.. and I like those.  Tea Tree Oil soap is nice.. and so is this Vitamin E or coconut oil one.  I like that one it makes my skin feel young.  And since I mention coconut.. I have found that smearing coconut oil on my skin is like heaven later on.  That and pure (boil-rendered, not chemically rendered) Shea Butter is the best stuff in the world.  I get the raw Shea Butter from the same people for like 8 years and counting now.  It comes from Africa and is made the old fashioned way by old ladies smashing the nuts and then slow cooking to render the oil from the meat.  The French chemically extract the oil from the Shea nut and it leaves a very fine feeling slippery buttery smooth butter but it has remnants of poisons in it which is why they tell you not to ingest it.  As a rule, you should not put anything on your skin that you cannot eat.

Actually, they are probably a lot more likely to use Dial, since it is fragrance and allergen free generally. I have never been MCS diagnosed, but I am allergic to quite a few things with most fragrances being in that category (makes for hell on the eczema).

An odd side note, for some reason I can wear Obsession for men with no problems.
