Spaceman's suggestion that I use a rubble trench foundation is perfect. There is no shortage of rocks out there. I worked all day making forms for the corner footings. Will run rubble trench between them. I will do an 8" bond beam over rocks and corner footings to tie it all together and bring it above grade. Hope to have to all done this weekend but must have cataract surgery tomorrow and a couple of follow-ups before the gathering. I know now why I love papercrete. It's so simple. I decided to try a sort of real foundation for this project but never again. All this digging and measuring is not fun. Next time it's earth bags on the ground.
