Well I guess I put enough lime, cement and cactus juice in my pc because even using an oxy torch on brick, slipformed walls and the doggy condo. All I ever really got except for a low lime test brick was smoke from the flame contact and about a minutes worth of smoke after I pulled the flame away. It was finger touchable within the a minute or two, after that it was warm and ashy. I think it's always going to have alot to do with how well you coated the fibers of the paper product your using. Be it card board, news print, egg cartons whatever.

I noticed that it was boric acid that was put in the papercrete? That would be putting and acid with a base cement. Bob C----- Subject: Re: [papercreters] Re: PC fire resistanceI agree with what you are saying. I find that one of the first concerns many people have upon hearing about papercrete is that paper burns. While paper does burn well under the right conditions, pc does not burn well at all. I know that I rest easier sleeping in my pc dome than I ever did in the mobile home that was temporary shelter until I could move into the dome. I don't consider pc to be highly combustible and tests back that up. That doesn't mean that we should not strive to make it completely inert, like a lightweight rock.
Now if I could just get that vacation in Cancun : )
