Re: [papercreters] Papercrete house in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico

So it's 1 kilo of paper to 1 kilo of cement ok got it, well I have not used that mix ratio but it should be rich enough to stop any mold. As for the other folks here helping out I can not speak to that but I will put the word out. I use a fixed place mixer on rollers look in the pictures section under ken's stuff and check it out. Be sure to tell us the name of the file you put the history of your project in.

Hey Ken,

The 1:1 ratio is in kilos.  Great, the mixer is in Mexico but we are hoping to get another project going in Southern Arizona.  We are trying to get it working better because the tow mixer is killing Don Lupe in gas.  I'll get that history uploaded today.  Good to know there are so many people working on this around here.

Well hello neighbors 3 points here outside Tucson. Your 1 to 1 is that a bucket, scale, barrel or scoop I ask because on here it matters trust me. I also agree with Pat no tid bits only please. That's why the files section is there if you don't want to put it in a thread. Anyway if your mixer dies or any pc equipment for that goes out you don't have far to go to get it fixed. I have built or fabed up just about everything pc at one time or another, if it's something I have not I know who has. We have 14 pcer's in the greater Tucson area.

Please DON"T make the history brief, include even the smallest detail. I find it all interesting and educational.

Hi everyone. I just joined the group and uploaded an album of
pictures showing papercrete being made in Mexico. I work with the
University of Arizona as an intern in Nogales and Guadalupe, one of
our partners, has been working on his house for over a year. With his
permission I posted these photos showing his process. We think of
papercrete as an option for low-cost housing, as well as, serving the
dual function of eliminating waste. We are trying to figure out ways
to lower the cost and improve the technology so that, among other
things, water can be collected and reused. Don Lupe is making his
roof out of papercrete using a 1:1 paper to cement ratio. Before he
was using slightly less cement and there is some mold (as seen in the
final photos of the album) in a few of the panels. Does anyone have
experience with this? I will upload later a brief history of
papercrete in Nogales, Sonora in case anyone finds it interesting.
