Re: [papercreters] Re: solar collectors

Hello everyone, I made one. The plans for the one I made is on this page http://solarcooking.org/plans/  under box cookers, the first one on that row. I've tested it a few times and think I will improve it with reflectors on all sides for higher heat. There are many designs for solar cookers there and am sure one of the designs would be good for papercrete to be Incorporated into it. Ev

Saw something recently about a solar cooker being produced and sold by the women in Darfur. It's just cardboard and aluminum foil. I think they sell it for about 4 bucks.

If you can't explain it simply, you don't know it well enough.

If we knew what we were doing it wouldn't be called research, would it?

That glorified beach ball is fine for a concentrating mirror to up the power out of a small PV panel, but where does the heat go inside that air filled bubble?

If you use one of those inflated beach balls as a solar camping cooker, how do you open the beach ball to put your food inside and take it out without making a big leak?

Someone marketed an inflatable reflector years ago, with clear front and mirrored back, but I haven't seen one lately. I think if I had an inflatable reflector I might just leave it as is. It would be great for those wilderness camping trips.
