I have had blocks freeze solid during the first few days of drying with no visible deterioration or cracking.

I can see a possibility of freeze/thaw damage, under certain situations.  If the papercrete were saturated with water and the temperature dropped below freezing, I picture possible fracturing that might create a material that will drain more easily.
