In his video there is no top on the barell, I think because the 3" spinners can't throw the mix out..but a lid will protect anyone incase a metal piece  breaks and slings off...don't want any safety issues. 

a sad comment on safety, years ago a teen had the hood off his car, it blew a bolt or something as he was driving in town and and 12 year old boy on a bike was killed, his jugular was cut by the metal...so think safety, the  mixer blades are powerful.  anything that can happen will happen

also, bigger may not be better as the torque to chop on his did a whole drumful in less than 2 miinutes
