Where do you live Wayne? I sort of miss the ocean sometimes.
I think your cut up ropes will work fine in the mix. Hopefully some in this group will share their experience with this. It may help with strength but I don't know. I guess you could do an informal test. Take a block of regular papercrete and one with the rope fibers and go to town on them. Sounds like fun.

Thank you Judith, I see your point. I am not so much looking at gaining
heat from the sun, as we get more overcast weather here, but more just
having a large thermal mass to even out the day, night and different day
temperatures.
As far as things to add, we cannot get pumice here, but I do have heaps of
old boat ropes that are regularly tossed out by the local fish farmers.
These are poly ropes up to 2.5" diameter. I have started cutting these
into 4" lengths and tossing the separated fibers into the mix. Would I be
right in assume that this will give a better safety factor for roof
construction?
