[papercreters] role of lime in papercrete

I have readthe lime will waterproof paper crete is this correct or do I
still need to paint with something like drylock to get a good product
for siding an exciting house to implove, well better stated, insulate a
1925 craftsmen stle house. there is no insulation the thaught was to
use 12 papercrete bricks then add a stucco finish of 50/50 paper to
cement papercrete with lime added to it if it waterproof then paint
white with brown trim.

[papercreters] Carpet Crete?

Has anyone ever heard of using used carpet a a reinforcement for
papercrete or ferro cement structures?
It is a bit heavy but is available free and it seems like it would
make a very strong wall or roof if embedded into a papercrete , fiber
adobe or ferrocement slurry..

[papercreters] bamboo- domes-

I was wondering if you coated bamboo with ferro cement or adobe if it
would last as I the stuff grow wild here and some of it is 30 feet
high and quite thick. Shorter material 3/4" thick is very common.
This winter I am going to plant a couple acres by transplanting the
root systems.
====================

bamboo has a long history in structural use, In Germany there is a
huge palladim center of it, like an area , and in several of the UK
earth building books like Appropriate Building Materials book- they
have chapters on using bamboo in many ways,, You can read this book,
a $33. purchase if imported from the UK,, online for free. it is a
long sorta funky url and sub urls to get to it but well worth it
for a 300 page book that is complete in all aspects of building
naturally.

I can post the links here and view it that way. I put this book on
my CDs as it is so hard to navigate the darn urls, but try.

To find the book "APPROPRIATE BUILDING MATERIALS" by Roland Stulz,
Kiran Mukerji 1993 see the link below.

If it WILL NOT open.. then

1. go to the library link:
http://nzdl.sadl.uleth.ca/cgi-bin/library?a=p&p=home&l=en&w=utf-8

2. then click on the>>> Humanity Development Library <<<< picture

3. USE THE SEARCH BAR- set it to "SECTION TITLES" << VERY
IMPORTANT the other options "chapters" or "entire books" will NOT
locate the book for some odd reason.

4. A long list of titles will pop up...SCROLL TO THE 2ND PAGE-- AND
SCROLL DOWN a bit -- YOU WILL SEE THIS LIST: the Appropriate
Building Materials BOOK- is about 8th on the list. [ may change if
more info is added to their site]

Appropriate building materials <<<<<<<<<< THIS IS IT THIS IS THE
COMPLETE LINK YOU CAN TRY TO PASTE INTO YOUR BROWSER.

BUT- may not work as the site needs you to "click through" to get to it.
