On the outside - check :) I made a test batch, I have no idea if I did it right as in the process I got confused how much of this vs. that - my tests should dry for me soon and tell a story :)

Maybe pressed inside a bucket or trough. On the outside it would probably crack as it shrinks. You might be able to pull a bucket out at just the right time but it would not be easy to avoid breaking the soft papercrete
