Re: [papercreters] Aluminum Powder to make foamy Papercrete??????

Yup, tried the detergent. THe problem is as the water drains, the bubbles are not strong enough to hold up the PC. I did not see any change in the shrinkage from detergent vs non detergent. I have added glycerene to the detergent with no change in the final product. Same with aluminum powder. It takes a lot of AL powder to get a reaction with the cement. If you were using a cement rich PC mix, it may make the dried mix a little lighter. But if you are using the traditional 1-1 paper additives only make the cost higher, they do little to benefit the end product.I could see using some of the additives for increasing fire resistance, but my experience with additives on traditional papercrete has found no benefit. But do not let my experience deter you from experimenting. You may find the magic bullet.
