RE: [papercreters] New material ... playing with it....

Thank you for coming out from under the desk.

I like it.

Staggered sheets, like in OSB (oriented strand board), laid flat on each other would make great insulation board.

Berm up a flat level area, or shaped, near the building site and cover with plastic.

Lay down oriented sheets dipped in prepared concoction, some more plastic, and bury with sand or big heavy stuff.

Or

Blow up a heated form and cover with dipped sheets of paper.

Mixes can be varied as layers are built up for addition desired qualities.

Easy to say though I haven’t done it as such.

I spent the last hour standing out in the rain with a couple dog friends of mine.  Getting colder.

Well I’m building the greenhouse now so sheets of sticky fire resistant recycled coating sounds real appealing.

Thank You

Subject: [papercreters] New material ... playing with it....

So I was sitting under my desk reading when the idea came across my
mind... why chop up the paper... everyone knows that partical board is
weaker then plywood... so I took a magazine, mixed up a concoction
(not to be revieled, but it is water soluable, environmentally
friendly, and about the same price as concrete) that I dipped an
entire whole magazine in, then clamped it between two pieces of wood
with four C clamps with as much pressure as I could get on them (8"
clamps so there was alot of pressure squeezing it). I also put plastic
sheets between the magazine and the wood so that it wouldnt stick to
it. Let it dry for a week or so and voila... unclamped and I have
something that has incredable strenth both on the axis of the paper
and perpindicular to it. My ideas for the use of papercrete are vastly
differnt then most peoples here, and this one again will probably not
be at all usefull for most people.. but it is idea for something that
I'm wanting to use it for. I'm still working out some kinks - but I'll
post some more on it later.. just thought yall might be interesed in
an incredibly strong recycled paper product with minimal processing
and very inexpensive construction.
