Re: [papercreters] Reciprocal roof

We need to build a cabin to replace the burnt one and enclose an RV in a huge screen room.
With no power or running water sleeping out at night is our saving grace.
I love round as we had a barn house with an upper and a lower round silo rooms. One was our bedroom. 450 sq with 9 floor to ceiling windows.
Gives me something to think about.
We had found a cabin book and had picked a plan.
‎We are going to try to salvage some trees for building that is if they are not blue inside.

I have to learn how to run a saw mill.
We had started an earthbag cellar but the fire took the forms and structure to cold the bags out. Walls fell, what a huge heavy mess.

Greetings,

A reciprocal roof will go on any shaped house.  Also, round gives you the most square footage with the least perimeter walls.  By removing the center post, a round house becomes much bigger since you are no longer limited to perimeter walls.  Another idea is a string of small round structures, which is a great way to build.

Oh okay.

Will share with the family, although round does not have much room unless you build huge...

This is just the structure, like putting up rafters. Then you build a roof on top.  My roof will be papercrete with a petrified hessian cover.

Greetings,

For anyone in my neck of the woods, when we get a nice weekend, that is
not muddy from a tropical storm, we will be putting up the first
reciprocal roof. The henge is up, and waiting. This is a 15' diameter
practice roof, the house will be a 30' diameter. But we wanted to do a
full size tryout first. Camping available.
