the vermiculite came from one mine that grace chemical had several years ago that contained asbestes.supposed to be clean now unless some very old inventory from years ago? vermiculite does absorb moisture, which perlite is more water resisitant, as the paper already absorbs plenty of moisture. Several places in Chicago make and sell Perlite .
