I travel to Panama regularly and work with PC pretty frequently. I think you should consider another building material for that climate. I don't see how you will ever get your mixes to dry out and stay dry in a tropical region.

Have you considered ferrocement? I work with FC quite a bit as well and see that as being ideal for Panama. You have plenty of rebar, cement, and various types of wire mesh readily available. There are dozens of great books on ferrocement and the mailing list is a excellent resource http://ferrocement.net
