A friend of mine tried detergent in pc, just in small blender batches.
It was OK, but did settle during curing, as you thought.
Aluminum powder is very flammable. It is used for explosives because
it burns so well. However, when mixed with portland cement there is
a slower chemical reaction, which makes the hydrogen gas bubbles, and
you end up with aluminum oxide and aluminum calcinate, neither of which
burns. When they add aluminum to concrete to make it foam and become
lighter, they then autoclave the foamed concrete to give it strength.
I don't see much advantage to hydrogen gas bubbles in papercrete since the
set cycle is a lot longer than concrete, and I don't think autoclaving it would
work, but I could be wrong. Anybody have some aluminum powder to
throw into a mixer to see what happens?
How about a large can of baking powder?
