HI SG, the trimmer part went fine, I used it underwater to pulp the
wet-soaked paper and cardboard. I mixed the cement in with a shovel
and hoe like I usually would, I have some cement and block experience.
I was wayyyyyyy too wet, I tried to go by the amount of liquid you
all have coming out of tow behinds.
Two problems, I was pouring on cement, not dirt, so all the water
stayed in, and It got cold fast, and then rain poured on the product.
Sat for over two weeks and never really set up. A few of the chunks
are perfect, nice and light and hard and STRONG!!!
No time to jack with it right now. Next time I will shred the paper
with my chipper shredder, pour on dirt or at least cardboard, and
work in smaller test blocks, so i can vary teh water and see what I
get. Idea was to make a fireproof woodshed so CDFs et al would not
have to deal with scatterign firewood in a winddriven fire scenario.
This test slab was 2 feet by 4 feet, and made of two by four pieces.
It was to be part of the cover building for our woodpile. Next test
I will try is to plaster the PC onto wire to cover the woodpile racks
for now. Maybe later I will comeback and build an actual structure
of blocks for the wood to go into.
I am a faller/sawyer, and we have so many fire and drought killed
trees in teh local mtns I can build a pole frame/block wall building
for equipment (4x8 blocks like Mikey sklars wall) if I can figure out
how to get the logs or poles down the hill to the chaparral where we
live.
I would say I got to build a mixer if we are gonna go for big
structures, or we will have to go earth bag and just plaster with
papercrete.
Thanks Dve.
