The point I was trying to make is that I'm not much of a gardener.
I've killed a cactus by not watering it before. I'd forgotten I even
had the thing. When I discovered the fossil behind a box of documents
in my office, I decided to turn it into a bulletin board of sorts. I
would harpoon recipts onto it before I submitted them for
reimbursement. Hey... reduce reuse, recycle, right? I thought it was
pretty cool. It worked great. I never lost my recipts when I was
using that.
A friend of mine (plant lover) read me the riot act and made some
remarks about plant cruelty. She took my cactus away told me never to
it again (in a very angry tone). Last I saw it she was cradling the
pot like an infant or something. Go figure?
People, friends, dogs... I'm reasonbly well tuned-in with. I can
easily pick up when they are thirsty, hungry, or uncomfortable in some
way. Plants? Not so much. I guess I don't have that gene.
