Re: [papercreters] ANYONE LEFT ALIVE

Greetings,
Just too busy watching our first calf nurse to think about papercrete!
Bright Blessings,
Kim

Re: [papercreters] ANYONE LEFT ALIVE

By the time my mixer thaws out, it is too late in the day to play with slurry. Be back on it in a couple of months, though.

Re: [papercreters] plumbing and electrical

BTW, if you need help with plans, I am licensed in NM for all the trades, including general contracting. TorC is only a couple of hours away, and I love hot springs  : )

Does anyone have a designs of their plumbing and electrical diagrams for a papercrete home? I'm just curious what additional measures might have been taken and how the diagrams were presented. I need to make some up for my next dwelling unit.

Re: [papercreters] plumbing and electrical

They would be the same code as any other residence in NM. The NM modifications to the IBC are online at
http://www.rld.state.nm.us/cid/rules-and-law.htm and the plan review specifications for electrical, plumbing, and mechanical are at
http://www.rld.state.nm.us/cid/PDFs/Electrical,%20Mechanical,%20Plumbing%20Plan.pdf and are discussed in general at
http://www.rld.state.nm.us/cid/planreview.htm where they say that if your electrical service is under 400 amperes, no problem. For mechanical and plumbing the criteria is for commercial buildings.

Getting a ruling on where papercrete falls might be iffy. Since it is not flammable I think standard methods would suffice. Are you planning on using cable or conduit? If cable, be sure to derate for heat buildup if it is encased in pc.
