[papercreters] Re: Just posted some new photos of my shredded cardboard samples

If you are interested in shredding the newspaper, I found that
sandwiching it between a couple sheets of office paper let the shredder
handle it with ease. Also, Pam vegetable oil spray (or the generic
equivalent) works wonders to keep the shredder lubricated, just spray
and run a sheet every 50-100 uses or when it seems to be slowing down.

Funny you should mention that, just this morning I did the same thing
with Bounty Paper Towel. If you've ever thrown on of those puppies into
a mix you know they stay just like a rag. Almost impossible to get one
to break down. But this morning I put one between a sheet of office
paper folded long ways and it broke down to a usuable form. I'm thinking
these and paper plates are made more of cotton than wood pulp. I tore a
paper plate into small hand size pieces thinking the mixer would do the
rest, wrong! After everything else was pulped the only thing left was
the paper towels and the paper plates, the pape towels were like wet
rags, and the paper plates were like leather. But I think now we have
found the answer to use these in our mixes.

P.S. I've done the oil on paper thing and it does work but the black
graphite works even better and leaves no oil or wetness.
