[papercreters] Re: Hello

You have come to the right place John.

There are a lot of people here who share information freely and
openly.

There is absolutely a difference between reading about something and
actually doing it. Workshops can give someone hands-on experience
that simply reading about it can't give you. That doesn't mean that
you can't gain the experience on your own, though. It just will
probably take a little longer and you'll probably repeat a few
mistakes that you might have avoided.

You might consider offering your services as a hired laborer.
Several members of this group have active projects and might be
willing to employ you if you would be willing to sign-on for a full
season and really put in some work. Clearly you would need to work
out the details with your employer and you'd certainly be expected to
work on a lot more things than just papercrete. You know all those
boring jobs around a construction site that nobody wants to do?
Guess what? You'd be the guy! It's not glamourous schlepping
buckets of slurry around, but it's good honorable work. It would be
worth it too. You'd gain invaluable experience.
